Removement of the middle plate is a fast job - there is only little risk to damage something.
Following is a short tutorial to remove the middle plate.
The ashtray can easily be pulled up. The radio bezel / radio frame normally is only sticked in.
The Gear Frame need to be removed (it is clipped into the center console - or should)
- First pull the Leather like this
- Then pull the Frame as you see on the picture. It is only sticked in - normally it is falling of by just look at it :-p You can also use your fingers to push them from inside
3 Screws left now before detaching the frame
- Behind the Ash Tray there are 2 Screws which have to be removed,
- Just below the ignition lock there is another screw which holds the lower cover.
After removing the screw of the cover it can be pulled down - alse the frame stucks there.
Everything else is just sticked in - follow the pictures and pull the frame out carefully
- Pull in direction of the gear-lever - you feel it, when it's lose
- Then pull there ...
- ...and there...
- ...and here...
- ..and the last one, pull here - the frame should be freely movable
Now the Frame is freely movable but some plugs and wires still hold it back.
The Warnlight-Switch has a small clip on the side, press it and remove the plug.
The other part (i dont know the english name) has an easy to lift power-wire and a lamp on it - rotate the lamp by 90 degree and it goes off.
- You can see the wire and plugs which still holds the frame back from being removed. (look at the markings)
- The Backside of the middle frame
You can easily fit the frame again by doing the above in reverse order.
